About Jay

I’m a college student, majoring in Creative Writing and Theatre. I like to write poetry and play with words, and in the theatre I’m the guy who hangs and arranges all the lights and pushes all the buttons. I really enjoy activities that combine creativity and technical knowledge, and as a lighting designer I can sculpt and tell stories with color, while at the same time I’m required to have a deep knowledge of electrical theory and math to carry out my plans. Same with crochet!

I’ve always been a DIY kind of guy. In the tenth grade when I became obsessed with Doctor Who I decided I needed a Tom Baker-style scarf so I learned to knit. Since then, I’ve discovered I prefer crochet and can do much more interesting things with one hook than two needles.

I go to school in the most Canadian part of America, and therefore being able to make cold-weather clothing has been key to my continued survival. Now that I’ve made myself everything I could possibly need, I decided to use my skills to help other people out too. Therefore, I donate part of my profits to the National Center for Transgender Equality. As a transgender person, this cause is really important to me and I’m very thankful for the help I receive from my customers.

This blog is closely connected with my Etsy shop, West Bridge Creations. Thanks for stopping by!
